There are plenty of essence drops and distillable creature parts after each battle. Another point is the lack of decent treasure is this OK or a bug? I don't remember an area that didn't have at least a few. Most recently we have been playing GRAV. All worked fine for me, except that familiars became unsummoned in certain area loadings.
Unfortunately I cannot offer any fixes for these and I believe lot of it, is to do with the old and creaky net code in NWN2. There are a lot of traps.
